Arshad Matin is President and CEO and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Paradigm. As CEO, Mr. Matin manages all aspects of the company’s strategy development and implementation. This includes delivering on the company’s promise to give upstream clients deeper insight into the subsurface through scientifically based software and services extending across the full range of oilfield exploration and production (E&P). He brings several years of experience managing public and private high technology companies. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President at IHS where he managed all business lines. He also led SMT (acquired by IHS) as President and CEO where he implemented rapid growth strategy while transforming a family-owned business into a professional organization. Before joining SMT, Mr. Matin was President and COO of BindView Corporation (acquired by Symantec) where he created significant shareholder value by leading the turnaround of the company. He also led an enterprise security business at Symantec Corporation. Matin holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School, an MSE degree in Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a BE degree in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College in Bhopal, India.

James Lamb is Paradigm’s Executive Vice President, Operations.  Mr. Lamb joined Paradigm in 2004 as Regional Vice President of Canada Operations. In April 2007, he was appointed Vice President of Business Development, and some months later assumed the role of Regional Vice President U.S. region.  From January 2009 until June 2010, when he assumed his current role, Mr. Lamb was the Executive Vice President of The Americas.  Mr. Lamb has over 19 years of experience in the oil and natural gas exploration and production industry in a number of roles, including consulting, technical sales, technology marketing and large account management. Mr. Lamb has a B.Sc. degree in Geophysics from the University of Calgary.


Duane Dopkin has been Paradigm’s Executive Vice President, Technology since June 2010.  Previously, Mr. Dopkin served as Senior Vice President, Technology and head of the Product Management Group, where he was responsible for setting the technical direction of the company’s software portfolio.  Prior to joining Paradigm, Mr. Dopkin was Manager of Special Products and Vice President of Research for CogniSeis Development, a geosciences software company acquired by Paradigm in 1997.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Dopkin worked as a geophysicist for Digicon Geophysical Corporation. Mr. Dopkin holds a B.S. degree in Geosciences from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. degree in Geosciences from the University of Houston at Clear Lake.  He has published numerous articles on the integration of the geoscience disciplines to improve hydrocarbon detection and recovery, and is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.

Ofra Kalechstain has filled various research and development positions since Paradigm’s founding over twenty years ago, and has served as Executive Vice President, Product Development since June 2009. From 1997 to 2005, a period during which the company expanded its business through a series of acquisitions, Ms. Kalechstain managed the integration of the various research and development groups into a unified technology group with a global footprint, and led the process of integrating different point products into a total workflow solution through the development of the Paradigm Epos shared infrastructure. Ms. Kalechstain holds a B.Sc. degree in ‎Computer Engineering.‎


Jake Pyles joined Paradigm in January 2013 as Chief Financial Officer.  He is responsible for overseeing all finance, accounting, tax and treasury activities for the company.  Prior to Paradigm, Mr. Pyles was the Chief Financial Officer for SMT, where he helped double the size of the company and managed the sale process of SMT in 2011 to IHS for $500M.   After the acquisition, Mr. Pyles led the integration of SMT into IHS and then assumed the role of SVP of Operations at IHS, where he managed the company’s global Information and Insight organization.  Before joining SMT, Mr. Pyles was senior vice president of Finance at McAfee Security, managing the company’s worldwide accounting, tax and operations functions. Prior to McAfee, Mr. Pyles was vice president of Finance for Remedy Software where he led the acquisition and integration of the unit into BMC Software. From 1995 to 2002, he worked for BMC Software in various Finance and Corporate Planning roles. In addition, Mr. Pyles worked two years with Coopers & Lybrand in the firm’s Oil & Gas audit practice.  Mr. Pyles holds a BA in Business Administration and Accounting from Southern Methodist University and a MBA from the University of Texas.  He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.
