Paradigm GOCAD® Well Correlation and Stratigraphic Analysis

Well Correlation and Stratigraphic Analysis provides a suite of comprehensive tools for interpreting, displaying, and performing QC of geologic data in a flexible 2D environment. This module helps users perform rapid and accurate interpretations of geologic structure and stratigraphy to construct a consistent geological model. In addition, you can copy the results to a document or create scaled hardcopy CGM files.

Single Well View
In addition to functionalities available in Base Module / Log Display viewing, this module allows:

  • Computation of facies intervals from cutoff criteria applied to any number of logs with a simple-to-use facies calculator
  • Interactive facies interpretation within tracks
  • Interactive markers interpretation
Multi Well Cross Section

In addition to functionalities available in Base Module / Cross section viewing, Well Correlation and Stratigraphic Analysis module allows:

  • Correlation markers and facies in 3D
  • Editing of well marker positions
  • Defining facies intervals between correlations
  • Creating lenses independent of correlations
  • Drawing shazam lines or other indicators for lateral facies variations
  • Displaying any seismic attributes at the log location
  • Editing of horizon and fault locations
  • Tying correlations to well markers
  • Flattening on correlations, surfaces, and markers

Well Correlation enables building geological features such as horizons and faults while honoring geological constraints such as fault-horizon relationship. A wide variety of data – such as logs, cores, image-logs, dip, azimuth, facies, litho, and chrono-stratigraphy data – can be used to enhance the correlation result. Three-dimensional seismic cubes, in time or depth domain, existing maps, or reservoir grids, can be used to constrain or update the correlation. While correlating, users can stretch, squeeze, and flatten the well tracks. Positions of markers or faults can be modified and the correlation result will be automatically updated.
