(AMSTERDAM, Netherlands: April 8, 2008) Paradigm™ (www.pdgm.com), a leading provider of enterprise software solutions to the global oil and natural gas exploration and production (E&P) industry, will highlight its next-generation seismic software solutions at the 2008 American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Annual Convention and Exhibition in San Antonio, TX, April 20-23. Selected software applications will be demonstrated daily at Paradigm’s booth (#1827), including hourly technical presentations showcasing Paradigm’s latest E&P technology.
Paradigm’s AAPG technical program will feature workflow presentations that facilitate the creation and validation of geologic models derived from geophysical data. Paradigm will also demonstrate how traditional geophysical data is used by a new generation of geoscientists to enable enhanced reservoir characterization and rock property determination. New technology highlights will include Paradigm Geolog Version 6.7 for well log and petrophysical analysis, and Paradigm’s Subsurface Knowledge Unified Approach (SKUA™), an innovative software solution for next-generation subsurface imaging that enables rapid and accurate representation of the most complex reservoirs. Additional software applications that will be part of the technical program include Paradigm GOCAD®, Paradigm SeisEarth®, Paradigm VoxelGeo®, among others.
The presentations will incorporate concurrent seismic interpretation, geomodeling, and structural framework analysis using 3D restoration techniques. Other presentations will feature the generation of reservoir models from structures and properties derived from seismic data, and correlations of geologic models (lithology and structure) from pore pressure models derived from seismic velocities.
“The AAPG annual meeting provides an excellent opportunity for Paradigm to present technology solutions that help bridge geology and geophysics,” said James Lamb, Paradigm’s U.S. regional vice president. “Paradigm recognizes the importance of new technology development in order to keep up with current and future industry demand. As the geologic community continues the advancement of subsurface science, Paradigm will be there to meet its need for new, ground-breaking applications.”
AAPG attendees can view live software demonstrations presented by technical specialists and speak with members of Paradigm’s executive leadership team. The 30-minute demos will begin each day at 9:00 AM CST and continue on the hour at the Paradigm booth, #1827.
