Fault Contact Editing

• Seismic horizons need to be validated where picking is difficult, at the fault boundary. Fault displacement can be mapped on the fault plane to look at the consistency of the interpretation.
• The horizon contacts can be edited to remove, for example, a displacement inversion or ill-shaped displacement map.

Fault Analysis

Once the displacement has been corrected, the quality of the fault as a seal can be looked at by computing a juxtaposition map.

Isochore Modeling
The presence of the module enables the computation of isochores in either the Structural Workflow or the Stratigraphic Workflow. Isochores are computed using well marker information, limited horizon interpretation between two major horizons, erosion boundaries and horizontal well information. The unique utilization in the industry of the horizontal well information helps ensure the right stratigraphic positioning of the fine layers.

The following lists the hardware and software needed to run Paradigm GOCAD 2009 Stratigraphic Modeling and Fault Analysis. It details requirements across all operating environments, specific requirements for each operating system, and additional software requirements.

For all operating systems:
Memory : 4 GB or more recommended
Hard disk space: 500 MB; 200 MB additional for developer kits
Pointing device: Three-button pointing device such as mouse or trackball

Operating System	Windows Vista (Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate Edition) and Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2). Note: The x86 versions of GOCAD 2009 can operate on Windows x64 systems.

Software	Video Driver: For Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, performance issues have been reported with some older NVIDIA display drivers. We recommend that you update to the latest NVIDIA driver. 1. The memory requirements listed are for normal usage of GOCAD 2009. Large data sets require additional memory.
2. Sizes indicated are for GOCAD 2009 only. Disk space should be increased if extensions from other vendors are installed or if data is installed on local hard drives. To optimize performance, working on data locally is recommended.
