General Information
1. What is Paradigm™ SeisEarth™ and who is it for?
Paradigm™ SeisEarth™ is a highly productive seismic and well data interpretation environment for projects with single or multiple 2D and 3D seismic surveys and multiple well databases. Geoscientists can interpret very large seismic surveys within a spatial and regional framework, using advanced computer assisted picking tools with high degrees of interactivity.

Application and Usage
2. How much data can I load into SeisEarth?
There is no limit to the amount of data that can be loaded into SeisEarth. The SeisEarth system is designed to interpret very large seismic surveys. This task is supported with volume roaming from disk and multi-resolution volumes which allow workstations to display volumes that are too large for memory and the screen. Display optimization is automatically applied to maps and 2D sections when these are too large for the monitor.
3. Can I load and interpret multiple 2D and 3D surveys in SeisEarth?
Yes, it is possible to load and interpret, either manually or using the Paradigm Propagator to auto-pick, multiple 2D and 3D surveys in SeisEarth. Multi-z interpretation is also available in SeisEarth delivering quick and accurate interpretation of salt domes, for example.
4. If I am loading multiple surveys, how can I manage misties between surveys?
You can visualize misties in 3D and edit seismic misties between multiple 2D and 3D surveys by using the seismic mistie function in the SeisEarth Basemap window.
5. Can I use the interpreted horizons and faults from depth conversion and depth imaging workflows?
The depth conversion and depth imaging applications (Paradigm Explorer and Paradigm GeoDepth®) are embedded within the same infrastructure as SeisEarth. Users can use the same data without any need for import or export.
6. How can I import export data between SeisEarth and other third party-databases such as OpenWorks and GeoFrame?
SeisEarth reads and writes data directly from the Paradigm Epos™ database. The options for data import/export are as follows:
a) ASCII/SEGY Import/Export using flexible interactive tools to interrogate files and quality control the data
b) ULA Import/Export using Paradigm client/server technology to connect directly to OpenWorks and GeoFrame databases for interpretation and seismic data
c) Paradigm well data server connects directly to OpenWorks and GeoFrame for well data access
d) OpenSpirit connections for flexible access (new in Epos 4.0)
7. Is it possible to perform geological interpretation
Multi-well correlation and cross sectioning is performed in Paradigm StratEarth™ which is compatible with SeisEarth. Users can send well traverses or lines of section from SeisEarth to StratEarth. Correlated well markers/well picks are saved from StratEarth to Epos 4.0 database. For cross sectioning, StratEarth can use SeisEarth interpretation, well and seismic data.
8. Does SeisEarth work with Paradigm SKUA® and Paradigm GOCAD®?
Yes, SeisEarth shares well, seismic and interpretation data with SKUA and GOCAD.
9. Does SeisEarth work with Paradigm Stratimagic®?
Stratimagic works with the SeisEarth interpretation, well, and seismic data and results of seismic facies analysis can be saved back to SeisEarth.

Installation/Upgrade
10. Do I need to run Epos 4.0 to install SeisEarth?
SeisEarth is a part of Epos 4.0 installation. Install Epos 4.0 to run SeisEarth.
11. How can I export and import data between SeisEarth and other Paradigm applications?
Most Paradigm applications are Epos 4.0 compliant and can access the same Epos database. There is also inter-process communication to send and receive data between Stratimagic, Paradigm VoxelGeo, Paradigm Basemap, Paradigm Section and Paradigm 3D Canvas.

Licensing
12. Is there a fee to upgrade to SeisEarth on Rock & Fluid Canvas™ 2009?
No, this is included with maintenance for existing SeisEarth license owners unless they require add on applications.
13. Will I require a new license file to run SeisEarth on Rock & Fluid Canvas 2009 | Epos 4.0?
Users will require a new license if they are entitled to a new application as a part of maintenance or the license feature name for a specific module has changed.

Training and Support
14. Is training available for SeisEarth?
Yes. Visit www.pdgm.com/training for a full listing of available classes by location. Also, customers using any of the Rock & Fluid Canvas 2009 | Epos 4.0 products are strongly recommended to enroll in the Epos 4.0 System and Data Management course.
15. Where are Paradigm Training Centers located?
Paradigm offers public at our training centers in the following locations:
Americas - Houston, TX, USA; Calgary, Canada; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Caracas, Venezuela
Europe/CIS - Woking, England; Aberdeen, Scotland; Pau, France; Moscow, Russia
Middle East/North Africa/India - Lagos, Nigeria; Mumbai, India; Dubai, UAE
Asia Pacific - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Perth, Australia
China - Beijing, China
16. Can I schedule a private SeisEarth training class just for users in my company?
Yes, Paradigm can teach our SeisEarth class to your users on a private basis at a Paradigm Training Center or at your facility.
17. Can private classes be taught using my dataset?
Yes, but in order to avoid customization charges, we recommended that we deliver a private class using our dataset. After the training class is completed, our trainer can spend an extra day working with users on their datasets. We have found this to be the most cost effective way of transferring knowledge with specific datasets.
