Geological Consistent History Matching: A Joint Presentation Featuring Paradigm™ GOCAD®/SKUA® and StreamSim studioSL-HM and 3DSL
Presented by Emmanuel Gringarten, Solution Manager, Reservoir Modeling and Reservoir Engineering, Paradigm, and Darryl Fenwick, StreamSim Technologies, Inc.
See, step by step, how geologically consistent history matching is achieved by combining Paradigm™ GOCAD®/SKUA® and Streamsim’s studioSL-HM.
Within the GOCAD/SKUA reservoir modeling environment: 1) multiple realizations of the geological model are first generated then 2) ranked with respect to their OOIP; 3) a representative set of ranked models are processed through Streamsim’s 3DSL streamline-based flow simulator and 4) screened according to how closely they reproduce the field’s historical production data. For each of the screened models, studioSL-HM uses a streamline-based approach to 5) identify regions of the geological model that need to be updated to achieve a well-by-well history match; 6) studioSL-HM seamlessly recreates the geological model through SKUA after having modified locally the facies probabilities; 7) after a few iterations, a satisfactory match is achieved at the well level.
