Seismic Facies Classification and Analysis

Stratimagic is the industry's accepted standard for advanced seismic facies analysis and geologic interpretation in the oil and gas industry. As a de facto standard in the market, Stratimagic is designed to support the qualitative and quantitative assessment of the reservoir through seismic facies analysis. Stratimagic integrates the NexModel seismic facies well log calibration and modeling tool, the StratQC mapping module, and the SeisFacies multi-attribute volume classification solution.

Stratimagic performs trace shape classification using Neural Network Technology (NNT), patented by Total. NNT is a robust pattern-recognition process using the Kohonen Self Organizing Map (SOM) method; it is well suited to seismic data due to its ability to screen out noise and identify representative models in diversified intervals.

The 3D Propagator automatic horizon tracker, embedded in Stratimagic, uses the trace shape for correlating events.

Seismic Data Attributes can serve as input to classification schemes, helping Stratimagic users reveal patterns and details that are not evident from standard interpretation or inspection of the seismic data. Dozens of attribute maps can be computed for any given surface or interval. Surface geometry maps (dip, azimuth, etc.) as well as interval attributes (standard deviation amplitude, ratio of peaks to troughs, and many more) are often applied to the analysis of E&P problems using seismic data.

Integrated with VoxelGeo, Stratimagic provides a powerful solution for facies classification. Stratimagic can directly send seismic and facies volumes, horizons, and attribute surfaces, and wells to VoxelGeo for further analysis in a 3D environment. This can greatly enhance productivity while minimizing tedious import/export activities.
