Paradigm to Feature Advanced Technologies and Industry Collaborations at EAGE 2017

Demonstrations of the Paradigm 17 release will also include the use of Machine Learning to improve asset team effectiveness, and Paradigm for the Cloud.

(HOUSTON: May 31, 2017) Paradigm® ( will showcase the innovative technologies included in its Paradigm® 17 solution suite at the 79th European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE) Annual Convention and Exhibition, in Paris, June 12-15.  Paradigm 17 leverages a high-definition platform, advanced technologies, seamless integration, and the use of Machine Learning.  Booth presentations will also feature collaborations with industry leaders, such as Galp Energia and Dassault Systèmes.

Machine Learning-based, rock-type classification uses seismic data and facies logs to predict facies volumes and their probability of occurrence, to improve reservoir characterization.
Conference attendees are invited to join Paradigm at booth #320 for daily technology presentations, beginning at 10:00 AM.  The rich multi-disciplinary program includes high-science solutions that help geoscientists successfully increase accuracy and productivity in their E&P work, to improve recovery and reduce exploitation cost and risk.  Topics range from 2D multi-line velocity modeling and high-resolution diffraction imaging, to reservoir geomechanics, pore pressure prediction, precision depthing, efficient subsurface model quality control using SKUA®, and the use of production data to enhance reservoir characterization.  In addition, consultant Sabine Klarner will offer her take on mitigating risk at each stage of the E&P process, and Konstantin Smirnov of PetroTrace will discuss the use of advanced seismic data analysis to enhance confidence in small scale geo-feature prediction.  The full presentation program can be found on the Paradigm Website.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, complimentary Lunch & Learn sessions will feature a case study by Paradigm customer Galp Energia, and a joint presentation with Dassault Systèmes, focusing on how reservoir geomechanics can improve production risk management.  Advanced online registration is required for each Lunch & Learn session.

Paradigm geoscientists will have a significant presence in this year’s EAGE technical program, with technical paper presentations in the Seismic Modeling, Seismic Attenuation, Seismic Interpolation and Regularization, Seismic Signal Processing and Geomechanics sessions.  Paradigm papers will also be presented in two EAGE workshops:  Workshop 6: Velocity Uncertainties Derived from Seismic Depth Imaging and their Use in Risk Analysis, and Workshop 18: Geoscience and Reservoir Integration in Studies - Tools and Methods.
