Paradigm to Preview Upcoming Release at SEG

The Paradigm 2011 release offers major technological breakthroughs aimed at furthering data and application integration, ease of use and performance.

(DENVER: October 19, 2010) Paradigm (, a leading provider of exploration and production (E&P) software solutions to the global oil & gas and mining industries, will preview its next major release, Paradigm 2011, during the Redefining Interpretation Industry Briefing today at 3:00 pm MDT, at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) International Exhibition and 80th Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado. With the release of the Paradigm 2011 application suite, Paradigm continues its tradition of anticipating the needs of the market by offering powerful yet flexible solutions that help its customers gain the greatest return on their oil and gas assets.
The Paradigm 2011 release offers major technological breakthroughs in the fields of geophysics, geology, petrophysics and reservoir engineering. In addition, the release includes powerful new capabilities and performance enhancements to industry-leading Paradigm Epos® data management system. Major technological advances in Paradigm 2011 include:
  • Full-azimuth, angle domain decomposition and imaging
  • Interactive subsurface illumination and interpretation reliability of seismic events
  • Pre-stack data interpretation to qualify data assets and prospects
  • Concurrent interpretation and geological modeling to validate interpretation data and predict fault seal, fracture and spill point probabilities
  • Interactive seismic to simulation with multi-scenario reservoir modeling and engineering analysis
  • Seismic-to-well calibration with multi-attribute analysis to enhance resource plays
“This release clearly extends the reach of the geoscientist with game changing interpretation, modeling, and imaging technologies,” said Duane Dopkin, Paradigm’s executive vice president of Technology. “These technologies broaden the geoscientist’s insights into their data with real-time operations, new transformations, and new deliverables without leaving the interpretation and modeling scene.”
The Paradigm 2011 release introduces application support for the full interpretation suite on Microsoft® Windows®, allowing customers the freedom to choose either or both Linux® and Windows deployment for their desktop operations.  The release also introduces code branches that utilize the Intel® AVX instructions, enabling customers to take full advantage of the performance capabilities of the latest generation of Intel 64 architecture microprocessors.
“The innovations in the 2011 release form the latest chapter in Paradigm’s long history of technological industry leadership,” said Eldad Weiss, chief executive officer of Paradigm.  “Our ongoing investment in the performance and capabilities of our software results in exceptional customer value and increased confidence in the tools of today’s subsurface technology.”
Paradigm will be presenting its new capabilities throughout the SEG Conference, at booth number 1308.
