The Tempest™ Suite provides a full range of reservoir engineering and simulation tools. With hundreds of users worldwide, Tempest is used for preparing and navigating the simulation input, submitting and monitoring runs, visualizing and analyzing results, performing assisted history matching, and predicting production uncertainty. The Tempest 2021.1 release provides many new usability and extensibility features, allowing users to work more efficiently.
Corey Exponent RAC component provides flexible parameterization for creating multiple relative permeability tables. The powerful Big Loop™ analytics dashboard supports the synchronized visualization of these relperm ensembles.
The new distribution plot module and extended aggregations and support for multiple plots per module add to the functionality and usability of the Big Loop analytics dashboard. Users can now visualize aggregated scalar and series data, leading to easier decision making.

Improved overall Python experience with added highlighting and an option to run Python with externally downloaded packages in a virtual environment. This allows use of a huge range of powerful Python libraries inside a Big Loop workflow in a portable way.
Read CSV RAC component provides a powerful and user-friendly way to import results from geo-modeling packages, Python scripts and other components in a Big Loop project. Almost any ensemble scalar result can be optimized and analyzed.
New Tempest Analytics license option allows third-party optimization and history matching projects to be imported in Tempest for use with its post-processing and Big Loop analytics capabilities. This also provides a cost effective way to analyze and visualize Big Loop projects.

Ensemble results can now be organized into multiple synchronized dashboards. This lets geoscientists analyze Big Loop results simultaneously in multiple ways. The composite displays include the previously released parallel coordinate and scatter plot matrix, and add attribute tables and ensemble line plots.

A patented alternative to the traditional Peaceman approach to well-grid connectivity (Free Space Well Connection) uses Green’s functions to accurately model the flows between the well bore and the completed grid cells. Unlike many approaches, FSWC can handle a wide range of well-cell geometries, including offset wells, horizontal and deviated wells and partially penetrating wells.
A range of interoperability features, including SKUA-GOCAD™ support in Big Loop workflows and additional ECLIPSE* and CMG compatibility in Tempest MORE.

A new scatterplot matrix display that can crossplot a wide range of uncertainty parameters, observed data points and run attributes. Whole ensembles may be plotted simultaneously, and high-performance filtering, highlighting and selection enables interactive analysis of large data volumes. The new plot works in tandem with the recently released Tempest parallel plot with synchronized coloring, filtering and highlighting of runs. This now offers two complementary ways to get maximum information from a Big Loop or traditional ENABLE project.

A new parallel coordinate plot that allows highly flexible analysis of hundreds of runs simultaneously. You can instantly filter an ensemble of runs using a wide range of parameters, including history match quality, parameterization value, run type, history match point, and many others. Instantly determine the run with the best history match and its parameters, or quickly identify the uncertainties in your model that influence the results.
The modelling of remaining oil now includes the important effects of compressibility and physically reasonable handling of relative permeability end points, leading to more accurate recovery calculations.
